National Family Night Out - Friday, June 30th, 2017

Info provided by College-Glen Neighborhood Association:

"Come celebrate National Family Night Out and Freedom in America with Councilmember Eric Guerra, your friends, and neighbors. The increasing popularity of the event has caused some concerns regarding safety. Last year Bowdian Court was filed with neighbors by 7:00 pm or 30 minutes before the event officially started. By 9:00 pm, as we began the start of the fireworks, the court was shoulder to shoulder with guests. The location for this year will be the field at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School/Montessori.

We have firm commitments from our co-sponsors Councilmember Eric Guerra and Neighborhood Services; D.J. Charlie White for our traditional blend of contemporary American music; Cathy, the Raley’s Bakery manager, and Marnette, Raley’s General manager, for cookie decorating; Jay Alaei for animals from College Green Pet Center, Fire Station 60 Crew, Sacramento Police Department; and Sacramento County Probation Department to be in attendance.

The format will continue to be casual socializing with your neighbors and our CGNA sponsors. The Association will provide complimentary refreshments including the traditional “All American” hot dog and chips from 7:30 pm to 8:15 pm. with dessert being served at 8:30 pm. Don’t miss this opportunity to visit with your neighbors, elected representatives and their staff members, the Station 60 crew, members of the City Police Department, CGNA Board, and many of our CGNA Sponsors while taping your toes to the sounds of music. As in the past, we will have face painting and balloon art.

At 9:00 pm, we will begin our traditional TNT Fireworks Show. During the show the Association will display a broad sample of fireworks being sold by the College-Glen Little League at their TNT Fireworks Booth on La Riviera Drive in the parking lot of the Glenbrook Park Baseball Field. There is no charge to attend this neighborhood event, which is sponsored by the College Glen Neighborhood Association, Council District 6, City of Sacramento Neighborhood Services, and our local business sponsors. You may want to bring a drink cup, lawn chair and a blanket, as it does get cool in the latter part of the evening."
